The Secret Elevator Museum

Somewhere in New York City is an abandoned freight elevator filled with finds from the street – homemade weapons, misspelled food containers, Sharpies that always fall out of your bag, what appears to be odd sex ointments, along with an assortment of other weird objects.

Although the freight museum is only open on the weekends, whoever is curating this seemingly wants you to experience it on different levels. On the off hours you can still see the items through convenient  viewing windows. Not to mention, if you can use this handy toll free number to dial in – you can enter the item number and learn more about the object.

If you’re up viewing the museum simply named ‘Museum’ it’s on Cortlandt Alley between Franklin St & White St. You can also follow the museum on Twitter to keep up with their hours and special events. via Art Nerd
