A Chinese architect Li Rongjun spent four months and 70,000 yuan to built himself an artistic and usable two-storey office out of 8,500 beer bottles.
He recently graduated from the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology and it was his first project as an architect. He says:
“I want to build an office which combines artistic beauty with pragmatism. This building is also my calling card for my future business plans. It will allow investors to see my products in real life and see my talent.”
This 300-square foot office is located in Chongqing city. Li also used some other materials like sand, cement and cobblestones to make sure his beer bottle building won’t collapsed but a local architect Tang Ji said:
“The second floor has no load bearing walls and the bottles have a limit to the load they can bear, If these factors are not taken into account there is a risk of collapse.”
Well we hope he is wrong about this. 🙂
